4 Quick Tips to Increase Your Impact

When people hear me talk about making a bigger impact in the world, they often jump to the conclusion that means starting an international nonprofit or growing a big-company empire that does business around the globe. Whew, sounds exhausting, right?
Now hang on a moment before overwhelm sets in and you decide it's not worth your effort to "make a big impact". While becoming an international force for change is certainly one way to make a bigger impact, it is far from the only way. It is possible to make a huge difference with even a small, local presence or working with a very tiny, select group of people.
Let me share four quick tips with you on how you can increase your impact in the world. I guarantee at least one of these will work for you, whether you're an entrepreneur or nonprofit executive and regardless of the current size or scope of your business.
Tip #1: Expand into new geographic areas
If you're operating with a brick-and-mortar business, this could mean going virtual. Or you could take your online business local. You can expand to new towns, from local to national, or from national to international.
Tip #2: Expand to new niche markets
Let's say you're a wellness coach for women over 40 who are looking for new workout strategies to help them get in shape easily, control their weight, and improve their overall health. You could take your same programs and market them to new moms. It might mean slight adjustments to your programs and your marketing approach, but the core solution you're offering is the same for both niche markets. Note: this works best if your two niches share similar problems, needs, and desired results.
Tip #3: Add to your service offerings
You can do this through strategic partnerships (the client works directly with another business or service provider), subcontract arrangements (you bring in other experts to deliver services as part of your organization), or by personally delivering new, complimentary services to your clients.
Tip #4: Create new programs or repackage the ones you have
One-size-fits-all rarely works when it comes to services. By packaging your expertise into a variety of programs, information products, and service packages, you enable more people to work with you. Thus increasing your ability to impact their lives.
It doesn't have to be overwhelming or difficult to create bigger impact in the world!
Choose one of these methods for delivering bigger impact and create a plan for taking action on it. My advice is to start with one that is a stretch (growth happens when we stretch!), but make it a feasible stretch so you can move forward easily and quickly.
